About This Site

This site has been built with ASP and an Access database. ASP, or Active Server Pages, is a Microsoft technology for server-side scripting. The ASP code itself is generally written in VB-script (similar syntax to Visual Basic) and is embedded into HTML pages which are given the .asp extension. The embedded code sections run at the server before the page is sent to the browser and can access databases, update records, perform calculations and format HTML dynamically.

Overview of Functions

The main purpose of this site is to allow job seekers to search through vacancies posted by recruiters and also register their CV so that companies may download potential employee CVs. Companies wishing to search available candidates and post their own vacancies must register first. There is no charge for any of the services within this site, as it's main function is to serve as an example recruitment site.

Testing the Site

Feel free to test the pages by registering as a candidate or recruiter. Both of these options are separate registration processes and each login will allow access to only that part of the site e.g. registered candidates can edit their details and upload their CV; Registered recruiters can search for candidates, edit their details and post new vacancies.
